AB Senegal has begun refining its own oil for the first time at the African Refinery Company (SAR) near Dakar. SAR previously processed only imported crude. The company announced it has successfully refined oil from the Sangomar offshore field. As Africa’s newest oil producer, Senegal has been producing oil since the Sangomar deposit began operations in June 2024.
