The Africa Blockchain Developers Call


Pan-African Bootcamp on blockchain technology, the Africa Blockchain Developers Call (ABDC), has announced its intentions to hold a weekend conference on the integration of blockchain technology into the health sector in Africa.

The Bootcamp, which was officially launched on the 5th of September, has taken in a host of African developers, in a bid to conduct intensive blockchain training sessions, and facilitate the deployment of specially-tailored solutions for various sectors in the African continent.

The Bootcamp also features virtual weekend conferences on several blockchain use-cases. These conferences, which feature platform presentations by companies and panel sessions on several Blockchain issues, are targeted at fostering innovative and insightful discussions on the deployment of blockchain technology in Africa. The first conference, which was focused on Blockchain in Finance, was held on the 5th of September. It featured a keynote speech which was given by Professor Anicia Peters, the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development at the University of Namibia. Other leading blockchain experts in attendance, include: Vincent Hoffman, the EVP, Community Relations at HTML Coin and AltHash; Ugochukwu Aronu, the CEO of Xend; Roselyne Wanjiru, the Director of Growth and User Acquisitions at Pesabase, Franklin Peters, the CEO of BitFxt; and Chiagozie Iwu, the CEO of NaijaCrypto.

The next weekend conference, which is slated to hold on the 3rd of October, will be focused on the theme: Blockchain in Health. Arnab Paul, the President of the Kolkata Chapter in India, will be giving a keynote speech. Several companies and startups focused on medical use cases for blockchain technology, will also be giving platform presentations through their representatives. The platform presentations will entail details on the operations of each company and its contributions to blockchain technology adoption. These companies include Nimedix, FarmaTrust, Medical Chain, and UBRICA Kenya, represented by Dr. Ochoche Ubenyi, Mr. Raja Sharif, Dr. Abdullah Albeyatti, and Dr. Macharia, respectively.

A panel session will equally be held on the topics: Better Health Services with Blockchain Adoptionand Shaping the Future of Healthcare: Innovation with Blockchain. Panelists include: Helen Disney, CEO of Unblocked; Ochoche Ubenyi, CEO of Nimedix Ecosystem; Abdullah Albeyatti, CEO of Medical Chain; Raja Sharif, Founder and CEO, FarmaTrust.
