The U.S. could run out of cash by June 5, the Treasury secretary said, a slight extension from previous estimates as debt limit talks continue.
The estimate was Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s the most specific timeline to date, and comes as Republicans and the White House are trying to reach agreement to raise the debt ceiling and avoid a crippling default.
