Nairobi based bus booking platform QuickBus has raised an undisclosed seed round in a round led by UAE-based venture capital firm Shorooq Partners.
The startup, which was founded in 2018 by British founder Humphrey Wrey, enables bus travellers to compare prices and book tickets on its platform.
Middle East and North Africa (MENA) data platform Magnitt said in an article on Wednesday (15 January) that other investors including Echo VC and the Oman Technology Fund had participated in the round.
QuickBus has operations in Kenya, Angola and Uganda
The startup, which has partnerships with Visa, Stripe, Mpesa and Mercedes Benz, reportedly has operations in Angola and Uganda, as well as Kenya.
On his LinkedIn profile, Wrey states that the startup has raised more than $700 000 in funding.
US business intelligence platform Crunchbase estimates that prior to this latest deal, QuickBus raised $720 00 across two seed funding rounds in 2018.
