Applications for African German Young Leaders in Business Programme Open


Submissions are now open for the African German Young Leaders in Business (AGYLE) programme.

AGYLE brings together young leaders from Africa and Germany for long-term business networking. Direct encounter and partnership-based exchange between selected African countries and Germany promotes the development of innovative ideas and projects and thus lays the foundation for sustainable economic cooperation.

AGYLE is a programme of the Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE) and Germany – Land of Ideas. AWE is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by GIZ and DEG Impulse.

The AGYLE network includes young leaders from Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia and Germany.

In 2024, the focus of AGYLE will be “Circular Economy – How young leaders are shaping the transformation”.

What is in store for you?

  • Live Week
    • You can expect an inspiring week of events with discussion formats, interactive barcamps, workshops, sector-specific matchmaking formats and company visits. You will work together with young leaders from Africa and Germany on relevant topics relating to this years core theme circular economy and test your skills. Through intercultural cooperation, professional formats and leadership impulses, you can develop yourself personally and professionally.
  • Network
    • You will become part of a long-term business network and gain exclusive business contacts in Germany and Africa. You will build lasting connections that will last beyond the duration of the programme. Through the network, you will receive support in public international positioning as a young leader and promotion of your career development.
  • Digital Events
    • You will receive professional insights and networking opportunities at regular digital events and stay in touch with the network. You will benefit from personalized formats aimed at strengthening your skills and competencies as a young leader.
